By using CO2 in place of typical solvents, you get a process that is safer to work with and does not affect the chemical compositions of the extracted oils. With these concerns eliminated, you are left with a high-performance system for extracting high quality oils for many applications. CO2 is a nonflammable, relatively inert gas. When pressure and temperature are applied, CO2 will experience a phase change to its liquid or supercritical form. This results in an incredibly efficient solvent for botanical extraction.
Our industrial supercritical CO2 extraction equipment breaks down the plant material at a molecular level. This is achieved by sending liquid or supercritical CO2 through our solvent chambers. As the supercritical CO2 passes through the plant material, it removes and isolates the botanicals of the desired extract. When the CO2 returns to a gaseous state it goes through the Venturi Effect, you are left with shelf-ready plant oils (full spectrum, terpenes, etc.).
